Experience a rehearsal of the Lake Tahoe Music Festival Academy Orchestra.  Watch and listen as conductor Timm Rolek organizes different instruments and musicians into a harmonious and coordinated musical presentation.  Come early and enjoy touring the Tahoe Maritime Museum.  This FREE event is designed to give young families and children a peak into the world of an Orchestra.  Free Rehearsal starts at 3pm.  Located at 401 W Lake Blvd., Tahoe City, CA 96145.
 
Wednesday, August 22 at 6:00PM, West Shore Cafe, Homewood.

The lawn next to West Shore Café is the perfect setting to listen to classical music and enjoy the sunset over Lake Tahoe.  Maestro Timm Rolek will lead the Academy Orchestra with compositions inspired by Italian life. Highlighted will be an Italian Opera with music by Rossini, Mozart, and Verdi featuring clarinetist Daniel Gilbert - plus a new "Italian" work by local composer and Lake Tahoe Music Festival board member, David Nelson.  Add an Italian buffet at the West Shore Cafe or bring a picnic, your favorite beverage, low back lawn chair and you've got a bella note (a beautiful night)  Gate opens at 5pm - concert begins at 6pm.  Located at 5160 W Lake Blvd., Homewood, CA 96141.

Thursday, August 23 at 6:00PM, Sugar Pine Point State Park, Tahoma.

Classical music at Sugar Pine Point State Park on Lake Tahoe’s west shore. Bring a picnic, a blanket or low backed chair, and watch the sun set as the Academy Orchestra highlights Shakespearean sonnets.  Music has accompanied performances of Shakespeare's plays from the days they were written in Elizabethan England. This year we are pleased to present to you from Shakespeare and composed by Mendleleosn – Midsummer Night’s Dream ballet (Overture 12’, Intermezzo no.5 4’, Nocturne no.7 7’, Scherzo no.1 5’,) 28’, with a performance by the Lake Tahoe Dance Collective and with narration by Robert Sinclair.  Additionally, to be performed this evening are Beethoven’s  – Coriolan Overture (8’),  Elgar - Two Interludes from Falstaff, op.68 (6’) and Korngold - Much ado about nothing Suite (15’) Kalmus rental. Gate opens at 5pm - concert begins at 6pm.  Located at 7360 West Tahoma, CA 96142.

Friday, August 24 at 6:00PM, West End Beach Truckee.

Saturday, August 25 at 6:00PM,  Skylandia  State Park and Beach Park, Tahoe City.

The tall pines surrounding Skylandia State Park and Beach provides back drop of Lake Tahoe as the setting for the Academy Orchestra's performance of Beethoven and Mozart.  The concert includes the first-ever Lake Tahoe Music Festival performances of Mozart's Clarinet Concerto featuring Daniel Gilbert.  The concerto is one of Mozart's final completed works, and his final purely instrumental work.  The concerto is notable for its delicate interplay between soloist and orchestra.  Next is Mozarts’ overture to his opera Cosi fan turre which contains some of the most dazzlingly beautiful music ever written by Mozart.  The final performance of the evening is Beethoven’s’ playful Symphony no.8.  The Eighth Symphony is generally light-hearted, though not lightweight, and in many places cheerfully loud, with many accented notes.  Bring a picnic, favorite beverage and low backed chair.  Gate opens at 5pm - concert begins at 6pm.  Located at Lake Forest Rd, Tahoe City, CA 96145.

Sunday, August 26 at 5:00PM,  PJ’s at Gray's Crossing, Truckee. 

Tickets $75 and include dinner

A sumptuous dinner buffet will be included in the ticket price for the final performance of the 2018 Lake Tahoe Music Festival.  The Academy Orchestra led by conductor, Timm Rolek will perform Mozart's Clarinet Concerto featuring Daniel Gilbert.  The concerto is one of Mozart's final completed works, and his final purely instrumental work. The concerto is notable for its delicate interplay between soloist and orchestra.  Next is Mozarts’ overture to his opera Cosi fan turre which contains some of the most dazzlingly beautiful music ever written by Mozart.  The final performance of the evening is Beethoven’s playful Symphony no.8.
